Cooking Utensils

What are the different cooking utensils and their uses? Also, what is the importance of cooking?
My ‘terror’ teacher (well, that’s what we call her) gave us an assignment about this. I couldn’t find a site that would help me with it and I do not have enough resources, infact, the internet is my only source. So please, if you know, kindly give it to me. It would be better if it would be long because my teacher only looks at the length of the assignment. Or you can just give me the site where you found it. i would start by going through and documenting the kitchen in your house and perhaps a tour of a kitchen shop.
As to the importance of cooking – think nutition and food safety.
I would expect your teacher is more interested in a well thought out analysis of your own discovery, perhaps backed up by some good research, than a copy and paste with not thought or analysis and input of your own
